Aviation experts say the fuel switches that were found turned off are impossible to be accidentally turned off. They had to be in the ON position for takeoff, and then both switches turned OFF to cause the dual engine failure. They are not like light switches or push buttons that can be bumped by accident; these take an intentional multi manual effort to turn them on or off, and there is a separate switch for each engine. Unless a fire is detected, the computer does not allow fuel cut off if the plane is airborne.
For actual reason, it is suggested to wait for the final report.

An Indian Airlines passenger plane en route to London crashed on departure at an airport in India’s western city of Ahmedabad. The plane hit a hostel for doctors when it crashed, with images showing the tail of the plane protruding from the building.
There were 242 passengers and crew members aboard the Air India flight. A doctors’ group said at least four students staying at the hostel are missing following the crash.
Before the crash, there was a mayday call. Captain Sumeet Sabharwal radioed the ground to say: “Mayday…no thrust, losing power, unable to lift!”
Video of the crash is released online and it indicates the plane went to stall. Typically while taking off, wings flap helps to provide lift. But here on the video, you see clean wings, no flap.
Typically for takeoff, minimum 20% flap is required. That means the plane couldn’t stay afloat. It can be a mechanical failure or a human error. A veteran commercial airline pilot is claiming that co-pilot may have been asked to retract the landing gear but pulled the wrong lever and instead raised the flaps.
There is no exhaust from the plane either. Does that mean pilots were restarting the engines? At that altitude, engine won’t come back that quick to stay afloat.
Other possibility is birds strike. India has terrible birds problem around their airport. If both engines engulf birds, engines would go off quick. According to the sole survivor,Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, Thirty seconds after takeoff, there was a loud noise and then the plane crashed. This is a typical situation of bird strikes.
Other report came as the plane used a bared minimum runway on a hot day with so much load. That would hurt the plane to receive more thrust.
This Dreamliner Boeing plane with a good track record and no accident to date raises so many question.
